Faris Al-Sultan was runner-up this year, and he leads Team Abu Dhabi. Remus Henning won this race, about half a minute ahead of the 2005 Hawaii Ironman World Champion. The prize purse is one of the largest in triathlon, and is an attractive feature for professionals. The wetsuit sea-swim, and 200K ride (that traverses the Grand Prix circuit) is the other allure. Held in March this year (around the time of IMNZ), this could be the next Big Thing in long-course triathlons.
